The reason I pulled the shaft was - I am the second owner and have put about 40 hrs on the tractor. Tractor has 400hrs. My service records do not indicate these u-joints were ever greased. The reason new u joints are stiff most of the time as seen by many on this forum and others is usually because the G-clips are too thick. Both sides of the joint caps have to be spaced evenly within the inset of the yoke ears.
