I'm assuming since you're posting in the WK2 Forum and your locksmith is telling you need a pin code, this "key fob" is a RFID chipped security ignition key. Older models had key fobs just to remotely lock/unlock doors that you could program yourself and a locksmith would not be telling you need a pin to do it.
