It, already is a 1.6x TC compared to 1DXII, so still out-pixels the 1DXII + 1.4x combo. 7DII + 150-600 will AF better than 1DXII + 150-600 + 1.4x. Web100-400 or the 400 f5.6, or the previously mentioned Sigma/Tamron 150-600s. The G1 Tamron and Sigma Contemporary seem very similar (and very good). I went for the 100-400 and a 1.4 myself. I couldn't see myself carrying the weight of the 150-600s, the 100-400 is really quite manageable. Saying that $500 for the 300mm is a nice deal.
